This building was Rice Lumber Co. — supplier to Ouray’s mines, merchants, and families for nearly a hundred years. The ground floor where operations ran is now three of our condos. The second floor, once the owner’s residence, holds the other two.
We gave each unit a name that reflects what Ouray is — the Ice Park, the Hot Springs, the Amphitheater, the trails. Stay here and you’re not in a rental. You’re in the town’s bones.
Rice Lumber Co. founded
Ouray's mines and merchants depended on Rice Lumber for everything they needed to build a town from nothing.
The last lumber leaves
After nearly 100 years, the yard falls silent. The building stands — thick-walled, solid, waiting.

The flagship. A private river-view deck, gas fireplace, and 1,900 sq ft — enough space for the whole crew. King en-suite primary, queen bedroom, twin-over-twin bunks, and a pullout sofa sleep up to 10.

Three ground-floor units — listed as one booking for maximum flexibility. Each sleeps 6 with a king en-suite primary, queen bedroom, and pullout sofa. Full kitchen, in-unit laundry, and easy walk-in access for gear and dogs.
The Amphitheater
A private deck with mountain range views and the best seat in Ouray for the July 4th fireworks. Primary queen bedroom, and a large couch sleep up to 5. One full bathroom.

Dogs Welcome
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs in all units. A $75 dog fee covers your entire stay — no per-night surprises. There’s a grassy shared yard, the river right out back, and miles of dog-friendly trails starting a few blocks away.
Note: The Amphitheater is accessed by open metal stairs. Most dogs adapt to them easily, but some dogs don’t like them — worth keeping in mind when choosing a unit.
